Infrastructure & workflow
Strong internal processes, structure, and strategic alignment are important to strengthening movements. I enjoy setting up workflows and usable tools for project planning, tracking progress, and coordinating work across multiple teams. I also create documentation that facilitates training and adds institutional knowledge.
For Indivisible SF, I also helped to engineer a project management system that shepherds the entire range of the organization’s member efforts, from direct actions to online campaigns to internal structure. At the core of this setup is an asynchronous engagement process that serves dual purposes of 1) getting member buy-in and 2) de-siloing different efforts and making it easier for volunteers to spot opportunities to step up.
