Thanks to my journalism background, I have an intimate understanding of how publishing actually works and of the best ways to work with press.
As a founding member of the communications team at Indivisible SF, a grassroots advocacy organization, I’ve created talking points, pitched reporters, produced multimedia packages, and edited op-eds. My team has secured coverage in national outlets like The L.A. Times and The San Francisco Chronicle, in local papers like The Mercury News, on TV channels like ABC and CBS, and on radio shows like KALW.
I help other California-based progressive groups create press plans and marketing campaigns. This work includes messaging strategy and guides, media kits, and website press pages.
Not only have I been a member of the press, I’ve also been a spokesperson featured in the press. I’ve spoken at press conferences, given quotes to newspapers, and been interviewed in TV and radio segments.
For events, I create day-of guides featuring schedule, spokespeople, talking points, and protocol for interacting with media. I provide on-the-ground support to members of the press and can help with event logistics and general planning.
